Why we need to live out our dreams

Look at the work around us. Giants of industry, giants of finance, Wall Street, all have fallen. Massive government debt. Unemployment is on the rise. People are searching for answers. People are searching for hope. Has the almighty American government given people answers or hope? Nope. Our President-elect won largely on a platform of change. People are hungry for change, hope, answers; people are hungry for the truth. Only the truth that is Jesus will truly answer the cry for change and hope.

Now on to our dreams.

What did you dream of as a child? No I am not going all Freud like on you. As children we were largely unhindered by the stresses of life, even if there was stress most of us had enough imagination to escape from reality long enough to day dream. Did you dream of being a firefighter, a police officer, a missionary. Were you the hero, the soldier, the famous artist or author.
I read recently about a pastor who as a child dreamed of being an author. Nearly every one of his English teachers failed him on writing assignments because of his bad handwriting. Never once did they talk about the content. He would write short stories and then burn the papers so no one would criticize him. He has now published over ten books in several languages, one of which was a finalist for the Gold Medallion award. He has been an advisor to the NFL, Gallup, Lions Gate Films and many more organizations.
What would have happened to his dream if he had given up? What would have happened if he had let criticism turn into fear and stop him from pursuing his dream? All of us had dreams as children that have become dormant.
Now, you might be among those who are living your dreams. You never let that dream die, you held onto it and brought the dream God had for you to reality. You are to be congratulated. Please share with us your story and let us hear how you went from dream to reality.

God is a God of dreams, imagination, and creativity. At the beginning of this post I wrote about the condition of the world around us. The same old solutions are not working anymore. Time tested methods of problem solving are failing. Institutions that have long been stable ore crumbling. Now is the time for Godly imagination, creativity, and dreams to be realized and brought to reality. People are ripe (the harvest is ripe), Jesus is the only solution to the problems the world faces. We should always preach Jesus, but now we have the opportunity to brandish a two edged sword. Preach Jesus while bring practical answers at the same time.
Christians with the mind of God should be the ones on the forefront of every industry across the world. Did you dream of being a scientist? Be the scientist who discovers a breakthrough medicine. Did you dream of being a politician? Be a Christian who is a politician (hey, God used a jackass in the Bible, He can use a politician in America).

Ask God today to reveal to you His dream for your life, then go live it.
